Q: My sofa cushions are flat and saggy. Can you fix them without me buying a new couch?
In most cases, yes — and it's much more affordable than you might expect. If your seat cushions are removable, we can replace the worn-out foam with fresh, high-density upholstery foam cut precisely to size. Attached seat cushions can sometimes be re-done as well, and attached back cushions can usually be restuffed. The easiest way to check is to look along the back and underside of each cushion for a zipper opening. If there's a zipper, we can almost certainly help. Q: How much does it cost to replace the foam in a 3-seat sofa?
We carry three grades of seating foam at different price points and quality levels, so there's an option for most budgets. Our mid-grade foam — which is what most customers choose for couch cushion replacement — costs approximately $100 for a standard-sized seat cushion at 5 inches thick. An oversized cushion runs about $150. A full sofa foam replacement on a typical 3-seat sofa usually comes in around $300, which is a fraction of what new furniture costs. Q: Do I have to bring my sofa to you, or can you come to me?
For most 3-seater sofas, we come to you — and there's no additional charge for local delivery and pick-up within London, Ontario. If you're a senior or have a disability, we don't charge for home visits at all. For smaller projects like a single armchair cushion or seat cushion foam replacement, we ask that you drop it off at our location in Old East Village. Either way, the process is simple and hassle-free.
Q: What types of cushions can you replace — just sofas, or other furniture too?
We work with all kinds of cushions. As long as the foam insert can be removed from its cover, we can replace it. Beyond sofa cushion foam replacement, we do dining chair cushions, armchairs, window bench seats, banquettes, RV and camper cushions, marine cushions, and outdoor patio cushions. We can even handle unusually shaped cushions — wedges, curves, and custom sizes are no problem.
Q: How long does cushion foam replacement usually last?
It depends on the grade of foam and how heavily the piece gets used. Higher-density upholstery foam lasts longer and holds its shape better under daily use. A family room sofa that sees kids, pets, and daily lounging will wear faster than a formal living room piece. The mid-grade high-density seat foam we use most often should last around 5 years under typical household use. If longevity is a priority, ask us about our firmer, denser foam options — they cost a little more upfront but hold up significantly longer.
Q: Can you replace just one or two cushions instead of the whole set?
You can, but we like to be upfront with customers about what to expect. When only one or two replacement sofa cushions are done, they may not match the other cushions perfectly — a freshly filled cushion will have a fuller, more rounded top while older cushions sit flatter. If your sofa still has some life in the other cushions and budget is a concern, replacing just the worst ones is a reasonable option. But if you want a consistent look and feel across the whole sofa, doing all the cushions at once gives the best result.
